Our students' college application included their reading list. It was not, however, a complete listing of the books they read in high school. Some of the books they read were not included since we didn't do well keeping records. Suffice it to say that my children love reading books, making their book lists quite remarkable.
People who love books, but have no time for reading for one or another reason, could "slice up" the reading into parts. Many books are offered as a series. This way, not only busy people will have the time for reading one episode a week, but also much like a favourite TV show, readers can have something to look forward every week.

It is very useful to start with a series of books so learning commences in a structured way. It is easy to move through the series as each book is completed.
Let them know you're in the market for a great book and check out their previous titles. Once you've been able to introduce yourself like this, they will pay more attention when you offer your services as a book reviewer. If you have done anything like this in the past, share that information. Keep in mind though that not every author requires previous experience to entrust you with this job. They may want a fresh pair of eyes entirely.
Publish His Work - Have your child take photos with a sturdy digital camera. Print them out, and then see whether he can write a story to go with them. Bind the pages between a homemade cover, and add the book to your home library.
Reading is an indispensable exercise for anyone who desires to be relevantly successful in life. Reading enables us to acquire new information and knowledge that will benefit our lives. There is so much to know in the world. We need to stop wallowing in the cesspool of ignorance, and toil in the mines of knowledge.

By doing so, they will find reading to be a really important activity since you spend time to do it with them. Once they get used to reading books, they will eventually love to read more.
